Boarding Voyager of the Seas at Cape Liberty

How early do they allow boarding at Cape Liberty when there is a 10pm sailing, I believe the ship does not arrive until late morning from the previous cruise?

 

Any advice and experiences of getting from JFK to Cape Liberty?

If debarkation from the previous cruise goes well, you could be on by 2:30 or 3:00. Several weeks ago there was a substantial delay in debarkation (a lady jumped overboard the night before and the authorities had to investigate before they cleared the ship for debarkation). Even with the delay we were onboard by about 3:45. But traffic at the pier was nuts as the arriving and departing passengers were all at the pier together.

If you haven't booked your flights, I would fly into Newark rather than JFK. Much closer and easier (and less expensive) to get to the dock.

Good question. Does anyone know also if they will let you sit in the terminal to wait to board as early as 12:30 or so. We'll be flying into Newark @ 11:45 and want to just go straight to the pier.

I believe they will allow you in to the terminal any time after 11:00 am or so...

And to the person above who thinks that Bayonne is nuts, the NY Passenger terminal is much much worse. Any time you have 3000 or so people coming and going at the same time its going to be a hassle. In Manhatten you can have as many as 10,000 in space that is not adequate for 1500.
