We were thinking of trying this excursion. Has anyone had any experiences with this tour, good or bad? We would love to hear about it.

If this is the jet boat excursion, we did it several years ago, when it was brand new, and had a great time. It's a short excursion, you meet the boat about 500 feet, if that, from where you dock, so you can walk over there, do the excursion, come back and have time to do something else, too. It's basically a thrill ride - you go fast, do lots of high speed turns and manuevers, mostly in the harbor area and around Water Island. Wear stuff you don't mind getting wet and leave your camera back on the ship - the goal is to get you good and soaked :D . You'll definitely need to go back and dry off before you're ready to do anything else!

We did the Screamin' EAgle a few weeks ago while traveling on Mariner. Besides it being a little disorganized on the pier (we waited 30 minutes for someone to come get us to take us down to the end of the pier where the Eagle was waiting, and if we were told that, we would have just walked down there ourselves), it was a great trip. The boat captain gave a little tour of that end of St. Thomas, giving us a little history lesson as well as showing us homes owned by some famous people. It's basically a roller coaster/log flume...you have a lap bar that comes down to hold you in your seat, and you will need it as you do get tossed around quite a bit. But it is fun, and I imagine in scorching hot weather, it is really enjoyable to have the water splashing on you. We were there in February, where the temperature was nice, but the water was a bit chilly for this FLA girl. In any event, the tour guide was very nice and did a good job, so I would recommend it.
