Satchel85 Posted March 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2008 After reading the other threads about the Iberostar my group was interested in booking day passes for when we stop in the Dominican Republic. I just called their 888 number and was told that it was $100 pp and you could not reserve the passes ahead of time, you had to get them at the front desk. I read in the other thread that it was 45 pp, if you tried the Iberostar, could you let me know how you went about it? Thanks!

cruisingbooboo Posted March 10, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2008 Someone I went to Iberostar w/ ( Hacienda Domiscus) said they contacted a different Iberostar resort and it was $100.00, maybe you contacted the wrong one. Britta was the woman I was in email contact with too.

cruisingbooboo Posted March 22, 2008 #8 Share Posted March 22, 2008 you will email your passport info in advance so I think a copy of the passport will be fine, I only brought my lic. and was fine because they had my passport info already. I didn't see any lockers but that doesn't mean there weren't any... email Britta and ask her, she's very helpful. Have fun!!!!

Don't feel particularly comfortable carrying lots of cash in an unknown evironment.

cruisingbooboo Posted April 2, 2008 #13 Share Posted April 2, 2008 Quick question: Why do they need passport information? I don't like to give personal information. Thanks, tami I'm not sure why but I gave mine and was fine... I think because it is a resort and even though you're only checking in for a day you're still checking in...not sure, anyone have a better reason? andnickali Posted April 2, 2008 #14 Share Posted April 2, 2008 I'm not too sure either- I just got my form yesterday. I don't think there is anything they can do with your passport number alone. I feel better giving them a paper with my passport info then prepaying with my credit card prior to our arrival.
polodad Posted April 2, 2008 #15 Share Posted April 2, 2008 Re passport info. I may be completely off base here (I frequently am), but I'll venture a guess (I frequently do). I think Iberostar is based in Spain. From my European travels (of many years ago) it was common practice & I believe required by law for hotels in France & Spain to record foreign guests passport info & forward it to the local police. I think they even collected passports & held them during your stay. Based on that experience I'm going to guess that either whatever European country colonized the DR instituted that policy or it is Iberostar corporate policy based on the parent entity's practices in Spain.
