Feliseop Posted March 8, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2008 We have received information from Sammy's Travel and EKOL Travel concerning a private tour. Has anyone used either of these companies? Their prices ane itineraries are similar. The main difference is that one company's tour is longer and includes a lunch break. Any feedback would be appreciated. ncsongbird Posted March 8, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 8, 2008 We used EKOL last June for a tour of Ephesus. Our guide was an archeologist with 25 yrs. experience and he was wonderful. We highly recommend EKOL and would use them again.

Sea Island Lady Posted March 8, 2008 #6 Share Posted March 8, 2008 I may have to contact EKOL. I previously decided on Mesut and sent him an email. I didn't hear back for several days, and when I did, he said that he wasn't sure if he could arrange the tour and would get back to me after the 10th of this month.
Feliseop Posted March 9, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted March 9, 2008 Thank you for all of your replies. It appears that EKOL does an amazing job! I am thinking about adding the terrace houses to the tour. From what I've read they are not to be missed!
eh2zed Posted March 10, 2008 #8 Share Posted March 10, 2008 We used Ekol in Istanbul and Kusadasi. They were great. Definitely pay the extra for the Terrace Houses.
verga Posted March 10, 2008 #9 Share Posted March 10, 2008 Our family group of 13 people including 2 elderly parents (in wheelchairs) used Sammys Travel in Nov 07 for 1.5 days in Kusadasi and 2 days in Istanbul. We are really happy with our tours and would definitely use them again. Our enquiries were responded to on a timely basis by Mehmet. Their prices (which include lunch and the Terrace Houses) were very reasonable and our tour guide was flexible with our itinerary. At our request, George added a ferry ride during our tour of Istanbul so that we can see the coastline and it was one of the highlights of our Turkey tours. A very nice touch was that they offered to include our 2 elderly parents (ages 80 and 86) free of charge to join our tours. They joined us for 1 day in Kusadasi and 1 day in Istanbul. Because they are on wheelchairs, they could only visit a few places and were with the bus drivers most of the time. Still, our parents were happy because they got to see Sofia Hagia, Dolmabahce Palace and Hippodrome in Istanbul and House of the Virgin Mary and Temple of Artemis in Kusadasi instead of being cooped up in their cabin.
