Our Cruise on Carnival Miracle sucks

The OP has one post and one post only. They found that they should post a thread with only negative comments...I seriously believe this is a troll. I come back from a cruise and I come on here and post my review...my reviews are not always wonderful or amazing..I make sure to point out the things I like and don't like...perfect example would be my Liberty cruise. We didn't care for it that much but I didn't find every minute of it horrifying...There were plenty of good times as well...

My friends and I have just taken the Miracle to the Southern caribbean and for all 8 of us it was the worst ship we have been on. We asked other cruisers what their feeling was about the ship and it was the same as ours.

Food was nothing special, Entertainment wasn't all that good, and service was ok at best. The casino was very smokey.

We took a private tour on St Lucia and there was a cruise critic on our van and he said the same thing. I am sure he will write something as well about the ship.

We have all been on the Spirit and it was wonderful so I am not beating up on all Carnival ships. However, we have decided not to ever take another Carnival cruise again.

One night they had an entertainer that had appeard on MTV and other shows. He couldn't get anyone to laugh and kept walking around the stage trying to think of something funny. He kept turning his back to the audience. The best night of entertainment was the salute to the

Beatles.

There were very few slots for non smoking and by the 4 day it didn't make any difference.

Our waitress Tanya was good but not as good as others we have had on other ships.

We did have a problem with a noise in our room on day 5. Around 5:30am we could hear what sounded like scraping except it was constant. We couldn't get back to sleep. When we got back from breakfast it had stopped but we went to the Pursers desk to tell them about it. He asked if we had called when it happened and of course we hadn't. He said if it happened again to call while it is happening. The next night the same sound woke me up at 4:15am, so I called. They sent down housekeeping who said "yes you have a noise" and she would report it to the Pursers office. After an hour of the noise, I called the Pursers desk again and they told me it was a technical problem and they would have to send someone later to check on it because it was too early to call anyone. Of course they came in the afternoon after the noise had stopped. So nothing was settled. They did send us some chocolate covered strawberries. However, that did not make up for the lack of sleep. I was very disapointed in how they handled the situation. They did not seem concerned at all. So if you happen to stay on the Riveria Deck on the odd side of the ship, beware. And by the way all our friends heard the noise too. It just didn't wake them up like it did us.

Hmmm...I really hope they were just having a bad week.

When looking at cruise reviews I only read the negative ones, as they are the most entertaining. Most of the complaints tend to repeat themselves:

1. I didn't win in the casino

2. The purser's desk was rude and would not give in to my unreasonable demands, even when I became angry

3. The ships's doctor had the audacity to charge me for his services

4. The waitstaff/cabin steward DID NOT treat me like royalty

5. Camp Carnival would not let my gifted/mature for their age 12 year old hang out with the 16 year olds

6. The food was too cold/hot/bland/spicy/small/average/institutional/undercooked/inedible/high school cafteria

Lets see now, if I know the Casino is too smoky for me, I sure WOULD NOT go into the Casino.

A cruise is what you make of it. Don't let the negatives that are posted deter you from cruising Carnival. Remember that some people don't say anything unless it is negative. Take it for what it is worth and move on.:D

We just recently returned from a cruise on Ecstasy...we had a cabin on Riviera deck also (even side :))...we heard the same scraping sounds and more, we had banging and knocking sounds all night every night. I had read a review early on about this same sound from the very cabin we were assigned. We took earplugs and wore them at night...once we found it to be too loud to sleep. We didn't like Progreso. Did we have a miserable trip...NO!!! We did learn from it........don't book on Riviera deck again, and don't go to Progreso. In other words...we made lemonade:)

Can't wait to book another cruise...somewhere!!!

Sorry you had a bad cruise. Of all the ships I have been on so far the Carnival Miracle was the best for me. Been on twice and I would like to see #3 from NY one summer soon. I would agree with one thing, I feel the pursers desk is useless on that ship as well as the Celebration. I called as a Platinum member for a problem, I was on hold so long I left the phone on the desk and walked up to the pursers desk, told them my problem, went back down to my cabin picked up the phone off the desk and I was still on hold.

I've only been on one cruise but it was enough for me to realize that a "bad" day on the ship was still better than a good day at work!

I am looking into sailing the Miracle this summer and this review hasn't deterred me. You will encounter smokey areas and some amount of noise wherever you go, unless you are vacationing at a monastery. How can you let something like that "ruin" an entire vacation.

What I do not understand is why so many people get so upset when someone states that they had a bad cruise especially when it is on this ship. Just because you had a wonderful cruise on this ship does not mean everyone else had the same experience. I was on this ship this past January and when I posted I did not like it I got blasted. My first two cruises were great. My last cruise was not so hot, but that does not mean I did not enjoy my cruise. I just did not like this ship and to make it worse I was unfortunate enough to get bad room stewards and waiter.

I think this ship has been over glorified.....

We get annoyed because the OP comes on, 1st post, has nothing but complaints, doesn't say that there was anything good. I can't believe that she found NOTHING good. It's a cruise and a vacation and if someone can't find something good about that, then IMO there is something wrong with them. Not only that, but the OP hasn't come back at all.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion on not liking the ship. I personally thought it was fabulous and have not one complaint when I sailed her last year. We had fabulous stewards and waiters but you can get bad ones on any ship.

Of course, there are going to be people who don't like the Miracle, but the majority of the folks on cruise critic who have sailed on her, love her.

And if this person doesn't come back with any other info, then YES she is a troll.

because i refuse to believe that the Miracle "sucks" as the OP stated,, i thought that sentiment was strictly reserved for the Victory lol

OK Since we are talking about the miracle, can the privacy wall on the balcony (aft cabins) be removed if we have two cabins next to each other??

I am sorry you had such a terrible cruise. Maybe you should just think things over before you make such a blanket statement as "I will never sail Carnival again" because you may find yourself eating those words in the future.

There is usually something that makes people cranky on most cruises but does it totally ruin the whole cruise. More often then not no it does not.

OP-Just keep this saying in mind- A bad day on a cruise ship is better then a good day at work. (i think that is correct. or for me it is.)

This is what I don't get, why are they all lies? Every complaint she had does not sound made up to me. But since they never posted before they are automatically a troll? I never understand this mentality that anyone who had a bad time and posts here has to be a troll.

My last two Carnival cruises have been charters and when they announce that we'll be on Carnival the following year, so many people boo. When we get home and I read the message boards for our charter, there would be several people with valid complaints about lack of service etc. Didn't happen to me, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I agree that there are some on these boards that seem to be paid by carnival to "jump" on anyone who does not agree with them...some have sailed the ship one time and all of the sudden they are "experts" ...give me a break how can you be that knowledgable on one cruise on the ship...did you even have any fun or take notes all day long?

I love this site for info and find that you must take every post with a grain of salt...I have only been on one cruise and loved it...no comments good or bad will stop me from making up my own mind when I sail the Miracle in May 08..I have been around in many vacation destinations and have had some bad experiences...but they NEVER spoiled my vacation!

Since I have not been a part of this board as long as others I will also be a "TROLL"

Ohh yeah, we're paid by Carnival.....LOL!!! I wish.

Well let's just see if the OP comes back and posts some other things. Somehow I doubt it. I have been on this board long enough to see these "one post wonders". They post a bad post to stir the pot and then are never to be heard from again.;) We will see if this poster comes back.

I think that's good that you won't let any comments stop you from sailing on the Miracle. You definitely should make up your own mind. But I'm pretty sure you will have a great time. :D
