boxgirl3 Posted March 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2008 We come off the GEM on 4/5/08 and with two small kids and luggage to drag, and unknown weather, do we book a car service or cab it to Newark for our 5PM flight home? I read about crossing a "highway?" and that sounds intimidating. Also, the threads I saw recommeded car services for Brooklyn - any for this terminal? The "search" engine is wonky!!:)
smeyer418 Posted March 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2008 Get a car service it should be slightly less and less hassle than a yellow cab and since you have plenty of time.... Try http://www.carmellimo.com or and see what they charge a cab should be in the $70.00 range including tolls and tip(its meter plus roundtrip tolls plus $15.00 plus tip) see http://www.nyc.gov/tlc
boxgirl3 Posted March 10, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted March 10, 2008 Thank you!! I'm all about the easy button on vacation vs. cost. What about meeting the car - is it outside across the "highway?" And is it sheltered? It could still be snowing based on the weather we've had! Chicago has been brutal...:( One last question -as a resident NY - how much time should we allow from the Marriott East Side to the Terminal for our departure 3/29? No have the car service come and meet you on the pick up level(tell them its where the cabs are letting people off its the level up the incline not the ground floor)...there is no reason they shouldn't come to you. and its it covered for the passengers not the cars. 2. It should take less than a half hour most of the time so leave yourself an hour(I aim to get there around twelve)
