My Time Dining on FOS

Recommended Posts

Has anyone been on the FOS this year(2008) and participated in the My Time Dining program? If so, what did you think and exactly how did it work? I'm getting conflicting feedback from different sources(RCCL, CC, etc) if reservations were required, or if you just show up and wait fr a table.

We just returned from Freedom and they had the MyTime dining room experiement going. It was on deck 5 but I wasn't able to find out if they used the whole deck or 1/2 of the deck. They were pretty low key in offering it. I got the email offering it a few weeks before the sailing. My email said that capacity was limited but there was still capacity on the first day. It was advertised the first day in the Compass. There was a second M'aitre D' or Asst. M'aitre D on deck 5 to take dining changes into MyTime in addtion to one taking regular dining changes on deck 4 (we had no problem changing from a table for 2 to a larger table). In addition, I saw two large signs about it on deck 5 and in the Windjammer. No one was arbitrarily forced into MyTime. We never walked by deck 5 at dinner time to see if there were lines and we did not meet anyone who was doing MyTime.

Our Head Waiter said that it is not catching on heavily and our Waiter did not like it (Don't know if he had to spend a week serving in that area).

You have to pre-pay your tips to be part of MyTime dining. I will post a link that has input from a Cruise Critic Member who actually used MyTime a week or so after we sailed.
