Where to stay prior to cruise?

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to stay in the LA/Anaheim area? We are going out a couple days early and want someplace reasonably nice/priced, doesn't necessarily need to be near the port.

Thanks!

Which port are you cruising out of, Long Beach or San Pedro?

What do plan to do? Anaheim is a ways from LA (they are in different counties). The only reason to stay in Anaheim is to go to Disneyland or go to see the Angels play baseball (or perhaps the Ducks play hockey). LA is HUGE!! Decide what you want to do, then decide where to stay.

Many people find that the Santa Monica area is best (unless you do want to do some of the Orange County activities above), but again, it depends on what you want to do.

Search back in older posts on this forum for many ideas related to sightseeing as well as places to stay.

Let us know which ship (the Pride? the Monarch? the Golden Princess? the NCL Star?) and what month you're going. And as Splinter suggests, tell us if you want to do the sightseeing thing, the cultural thing, the Disneyland thing, the beach thing (which will just basically be during the summer and early fall, as the rest of the time, the water won't be warm enough)...

Then here are some of my personal favorites for different reasons:

South Hollywood (area around The Hills TV Show)

This should at least get your started on ideas and planning...
