Cruiseships Stops - Are There Time Restrictions At Grand Cayman ?

We have just come back from a Western caribbean cruise which included Grand Cayman.

We couldn't help but notice that nearly all cruise ships (there were 6 in port that day !) arrived early morning, and all left around 4-5pm.

GC is such a beautiful island - we would have loved to have had more time there......and particularly some evening time. We were left wondering if all cruiseships are restricted in their arrival/departure times & lengths of stay at this port ?

Just curious

Yes, if they want to be able to make it in to another port the next day. No, there is nothing to legally prohibit them from staying later.

They government has discussed this issue as it relates to development of the port. The thought is that if some ships could dock then it would not take so long to get the passengers back aboard and they could stay and hour or so later.
