Carnival Paradies - Which is the better deal?

Cruising on the Paradise 4/28. Trying to decide between and Inside Guarantee or an Inside Stateroom with an automatic upgrade to a higher deck. Both are being quoted at the same price.

 

Anyone have any thoughts on which option I should take?

If the Inside with automatic upgrade is NOT a guarantee (in other words you get to choose your cabin), I would most definitely take that option. I like to be able to choose my cabin.

 

If both are a guarantee, then it depends on whether you want to be higher up on the ship or not. We have been on Riviera deck on both of our cruises, and actually liked that deck very much. Our cruises have been on Spirit class ships, so the casino, dining room, showroom, bars, shops, etc. were all on decks 2 & 3, making it very convenient to just zip up the stairs to get there. Some folks like being higher up on the ship in order to be closer to Lido deck. Another reason I've liked being down on Riviera is that you don't feel the motion of the ship as much when you are down lower. Good luck! :)

The automatic upgrade is NOT a guarantee. The agent said I could choose only one of the two promotions...

 

We're not terribly particular, inside is pretty much, well, inside :) Just trying to weigh my options - not sure just how much of an upgrade is possible on an inside guarantee room (chance of a window, balcony, even?).
