kokoko Posted February 14, 2005 #28 Share Posted February 14, 2005 And here I thought I was the only one doing this. Since I only like T.G.I Friday's Mud slide I alway's bring my THUNDER STICK, it's smaller than the blender and does really good on ice drinks and I bring My own insulated cup. mom on strike Posted February 20, 2005 #29 Share Posted February 20, 2005 Frozen drinks melt too fast in the heat. Fill your opaque, insulated sports bottle with: equal parts orange juice and pineapple juice, rum, a squeeze of lime, a splash of grenadine, and a dash of bitters. Yes, I will be packing all of these in my suitcase! Tastes just as good when the ice has melted.
okron Posted March 3, 2005 #30 Share Posted March 3, 2005 Ok....first time cruiser here, where do you get the food items for your drinks? Are you able to bring food back to your cabin....this sounds like a great idea just wondering how easy it is to keep stocked for spontaneous drinks Ron
CrystalCritic Posted March 4, 2005 #31 Share Posted March 4, 2005 Great idea Melissa! What a great idea. I'm going to bring my Braun Stick blender. It chops, mixes and does everything a regular blender does, but you mix it in the glass you are going to use. Less storage space. :D Melissa

texashms Posted March 6, 2005 #33 Share Posted March 6, 2005 I'm not sure what you mean... Do you mean where do you get the food items (fruit) to put in drinks? At the buffet (which is open 24 hrs on princess ships) you can get all the fruit you want. I guess maybe they take plates of it back to the rooms. We did that a lot when we were on the lido deck. we took the food to our room and ate our breakfast and lunch on our verandah in peace and quiet. Happy sailing to you! kokoko Posted September 22, 2005 #35 Share Posted September 22, 2005 I just love this thread. Thanks to everyone for the great recipes. I just bought a magic bullet, it only makes one drink at a time but is the best I have ever used I like it better than the thunder stick and it's very handi to take on a cruise. I am really fussy about my drinks and do not like anything the ships have so I always bring my own. I love t.g.fridays cause all you need is ice. and they have the large bottles in plastic. p2lockhart Posted November 7, 2005 #36 Share Posted November 7, 2005 My blender is plastic, not glass. Weighs much less. Margaritas 1 can frozen limeade 1 tequila 1 can triple sec (you can buy other flavors like mango, if you prefer) add crushed ice You have to keep the limeade on ice, obviously. After the first 3 days, I switch to rum drinks. My fav is pina colada. Pina Colada Rum Can Cream of Coconut milk Can pineapple juice crushed ice the proportions are on the side of the can of cream of coconut
celbercrz333 Posted November 9, 2005 #37 Share Posted November 9, 2005 Not sure what this is called--so if any of you do, please let me know. Mango rum, coconut rum, OJ, pineapple juice and grenadine. I got it at Phillips Seafood House in Myrtle Beach. I also love rum punch, or rum runners. jetskier Posted November 12, 2005 #40 Share Posted November 12, 2005 You can also go to a website called http://www.webtender.com/db/ingred/36 This link will bring up all the drinks made with Malibu Rum. By changing the base spirit, you can come up with other drinks. Dave
Julie of the North Posted November 15, 2005 #41 Share Posted November 15, 2005 I have a small food chopper I bought at Wal Mart a few years ago for about $5. It never worked so good for chopping veggies but I did throw a few ice cubes in it the other day and gave it a "whirl"....perfect slush for "foo foo" drinks. Guess what is going in my suitcase? LOL! I also bought some powdered Daquri and Margarita mixes in envelopes that will make about 3-4 drinks. I won't forget the salt for the margaritas either! Looks like I'm all set! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
