vatican city tickets

...this november, we will be in rome for for one full day of sightseeing before we embark..we would like to visit vatican city, but from the info we have, the tickets for admission must be picked up one or two days in advance...does anyone have any other experience on how to get tickets the same day...gracci

We got ours the same day last week for the museum/Sistene Chapel at the door-no problem-12 euros per person.

i got it butt backwards, one needs to apply for tickets to the gardens 2 days in advance.....we have seen the museum and the sistene, as lovely as they are, we would like, if possible, to visit the gardens and to know if anyone had been able to visit the vatican gardens without an escourt...we have read that

 

The Vatican Gardens can be visited only by those on guided tours or bus tours

 

Tickets are available from the Tourist Information Office in St Peter’s Square; it is advisable to apply 2 days in advance.
