Good maps of Florence to download? Train stop in Pisa?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone found any good maps/material on Florence to download from the internet to assist with touring in Florence? I believe from reading these forums that if I get a train ticket to Florence from Livorno we can do a small 'stop' in Pisa and take a look at the Tower. We would get a taxi up to the Tower and back to save some time.

I received an excellent map (in '05) from Florence's Tourism office by emailing: info@firenzeturismo.it It arrived in the mail approx. 3 weeks following my request and included a list of opening times & prices for museums and churches.

My two favourite sites for research for most ports:

http://www.frommers.com/destinations/florence/0051010001.html (from the index panel on the left, you'll find out everything you'll need to know about Florence...there are also maps on this site).

Scroll down to "Special Reports" for a brief explanation of going to Florence by train.
