wolfcel Posted March 24, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2008 This will be my first cruise on Carnivals Victory. We have been assigned the early seating for dinner (5:45). I know there are 2 dining rooms, Atlantic and Pacific (if I remember correctly). Is one better then the other? and is there a better dining time? We are traveling with a 7 year old. habby Posted March 25, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2008 You have REQUESTED the 5:45 p.m. dining time. You won't actually find out your assignment until you register when you get on board. From what I've read here, it seems that this is the least requested dining time, which would lead me to believe your request will be honored. I think it's a great choice for a seven-year-old. (It works for us and we're in our 50s!) Anyway, the Pacific dining room is the aft dining room. It's the only dining room we've had on the Victory or the Destiny, so I really can't comment on if either dining room is better. Wish I could be more help! IKON Posted March 25, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2008 I have heard that there can be alot of vibrations from the engines in this dining room, glasses clanging and the such. We picked the mid dining room but mostly bedause I like the times better not so much about the vibrations. We were on the Destiny in the back dining room and we did notice some "clanging and vibrations" but wasn't horrible.
MrPete Posted March 25, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2008 I prefer the rear dining room, as it's three sides glass. Just seems more panoramic. I would have prefered the 6:15 seating, but the rear DR is the 5:45 on, at least on our voyage. But, we gained a half hour on the other side. Do you remember or do they change for each cruise? I'm just thinking that 5:45 might be a little early.
rcoaster809 Posted March 26, 2008 #6 Share Posted March 26, 2008 The 5:45 seating will be in the Pacific (Aft) Dining Room, and the 6:15 seating will be in the Atlantic (Midship) Dining Room. It was this way on my two Victory cruises. I liked the aft dining room a lot for the windows and we were able to see the sunset after each dinner. In both cruises I don't remember much vibrations in the dining room.
