Glory - Western Cruise in Sept Questions

Hi All,

We are sailing on Glory in September and are hoping you can give us some guidance with any of the ports we will be going to.

DH and I are looking at the different ship excursions and can't find anything that tells us what people think of the different excursions offered. Can you tell us what you thought was a good excursion for each of the ports and why? We would really appreciate any comments you have.

Cozumel

Beliza

Roatan (no zip lining for me, maybe him)

Freeport

Thanks again for your help and comments.

Not sure what your interested in but we went to Paradise Beach in Cozumel, a fun and relaxing beach day.

In Belize we did the cavetubing and had a great time!

Both were done independently, have you visited the Port of Call threads for each stop? There is some really great info on those boards, I haven't visited the other two stops yet but was considering Anthonys Key Resort for Roatan and a beach day in Freeport since there doesn't seem to be much to do there.

Enjoy your cruise :)

Cozumel.......Been there twice. Did the Dolphin Encounter (Carnival Excursion). Awesome......one of the coolest things I have ever done. The second time we did the Mexican Cooking Class. What a hoot! Price includes all your drinks and at the end, you eat what you have prepared and they serve wine with it.

Belize.....We did Xunantunich. It will take all day, but well worth it. You have a bus ride that really opens your eyes as to some of the poor living conditions, but there is a lot of natural beauty to be seen. Just as a note, Belize is always a tender port. I did see one person's post here in the last couple of weeks who did the Altun Ha/River Wallace excursion and while they really liked Altun Ha, they were less than impressed with the boats for the river excursion. I had seen a post last year with pictures of those boats which was why we opted for Xunantunich.

Roatan......DH did Snuba.....really liked it once he got the hang of it. Really hooked him on snorkeling and such. I did the Tabayana Beach excursion. Great beach. I don't snorkel, but you can snorkel right from the beach and others have posted that it is really good snorkeling. As to the zip line, not to bring some negativity to this, but an American tourist was killed a few weeks ago on the zipline in Roatan. Don't know if it has re-opened or will re-open.

Freeport......recommend that you catch a shuttle that will cost you $5 per person (I think) each way and will drop you off over at Port Lucaya where there is a casino and shopping. There ia also a semi-submersible boat over there that I can recommend. Just watch your time and you should be okay on doing your own thing. There is just not a lot in Freeport.

Hope all of this is helpful.
