coffee pots

Officially, I think that the answer will be no - they do not want any heating elements in the rooms to protect against fire. You may be prudent with it but if they allow it generally then somebody is going to leave it on, with some clothing touching the heating element.

That said, you can probably get away with it if you are careful.

If you get a french press (non electric) you can order hot water and just use the french press. it makes excellent coffee and comes as small as two cups

Great idea, trock! My ex had one and he loved it. You know me, though... I'd rather have vodka. :D

I have been taking my little 5 cup coffee maker on cruises for years. No one has ever said a thing. I asked the cabin steward on the Carnival Victory about it in 2006, he said he'd check and get back to me, he never did and I used my coffee pot each and every morning with no problems. Since I do use creamer in my coffee and there are no fridges in the cabins, the steward kept the ice bucket full of ice and put my creamer in it each day..guess he didn't see it as a problem..
