wesbc Posted March 27, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2008 Will be staying at San Juan after 4/27 - 5/4 Cruise and wanted to know if anyone will be around to possibly split on a charter for some Tarpon / Deep Sea Fishing. I hear Tarpon are hot this time of the year. Maybe some locals that wouldn't mine have a couple tag along, would be happy to help on fuel and cost. rainforestgirl Posted March 27, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2008 There are a few places that do Tarpon in SJ. They are small boats- 3 people max usually. Much less expensive than Deep Sea fishing, easier on the stomach too! cruisin 07 Posted March 27, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2008 I appreciate the info. I will be in San Juan 4/10 - 4/13 before cruise. I have been looking for a charter to do some fly fishing for tarpon. Thanks again.
wesbc Posted March 27, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted March 27, 2008 Likewise. Those are definitely options if I can't find anyone to do a split charter for a Tarpon / Deep Sea combo. http://www.fishinginpuertorico.com/ This was the charter I was considering, have heard good thing about him. But $950 is a bit much to stomach, but seems like an awesome charter if I can find someone to split it. 3 hrs of Tarpon follow by 6 hrs of Deep Sea fishing. cruisin 07 Posted April 11, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 11, 2008 Just return from tarpon fishing. The tarpon were everywhere but just not bitting. Out of 4 boats only saw 3 hook ups with one boated with one being my boat. But I did catch 2 snook, 4 and 10 lbs. Still a lot of fun
