drew sailbum Posted March 27, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2008 Seven Mile Beach is a long beach (actually about 5.5 continuous miles of beach). With such a long beach it helps to have specific names for particular sections of the beach. Names of particular sections of the beach are derived from landmarks such as hotels, businesses, or cemeteries. Cemetery Beach is, as the name implies, the section of Seven Mile Beach immediately in front of a cemetery in West Bay. Other sections include West Bay Public Beach, Public Beach (which is a different locale), Courtyard by Marriott beach, Sea Grape, Beach Club, Royal Palms, Pageant Beach, and more. Cemetery Beach is, as the name implies, the section of Seven Mile Beach immediately in front of a cemetery in West Bay. Cemetery is on the northern end of SMB and has good snorkeling about 100-200 yards off the beach.
