I have a few questions regarding renting cars on GC. How easy/difficult is it to rent a car from a port? ie: is there a car rental place close by the ports? Also, about how much does it cost to rent a car for a few hours?

We rented a car from Avis at the airport when we were in GC (Feb 08). It was very easy. We wanted to rent from the airport so we did not get caught in the traffic headed to 7 Mile Beach, Hell, and the Turtle Farm. We drove around the island making stops, and to Rum Point then found a private beach all to ourselves!

 

Avis picked us up from the Blue Iguana (shop) downtown and brought us to the airport and back. Very easy. It cost about $60 with gas for the day. There are other companies such as Andy's that you might want to check out.

 

Just remember they drive on the left! Have fun.
