Just back from Summit 3/22

I am in the process of writing a full and lengthy review of our Summit cruise last week. In short, we (DW and I) thought it was Great. There were a few things that I will write about that we were unhappy with, but it in no way ruined our week.

For a 7 year old ship, she is in pretty good condition. With her upcoming dry dock, a lot of the things that need to be addressed, will be.

Any questions, please feel free to ask. I may answer some of them when I post my review.

We are also just back, not at all impressed. Dining Room food was not very good at all. Favorites were the breadsticks and the firies they brought one night that were hot and delicious. I guess my complaint is I did not spend thousands of dollars for breadsticks and fries to be the outstanding food items. We were on Jewel, RCI last Easter and did not have any complanits from 3 families. Staff friendlier on RCI and Princess. Entertainment was OK, ON Point is good and the lounge singer, forget her name was very good. Husband and son tried waffles, said they were OK, nothing out of the ordinary. I guess I will stick to vacations were I can choose my restaurants. Bonaire is a pretty little island, snorkeling amazing. Would not cruise Celebrity again, unless something turns around as far as the food. Oh yes, those wondering about dress, they allow just about anything except shorts. Even our waiter told us to come in on semiformal even though our son did not have a sports jacket, no problem. You will not change this, people are what the are, some just don't get it.

Really - I thought the food was very good, for the most part. There were some things that were a little off, but still good. I actually thought the food was slightly better than last year.

I also thought the service/staff were very friendly, with the exception of the casino. On Point was very good.

I was disappointed with the amount of people not following the dress a little better. Jeans in the dining room on any night except the first night is not right. It is in the daily every day. This is an issue that has been beat to death, and I am sure will continue to be.

I guess this goes to show that two people can, and will, have different views of the same exact cruise. There is nothing wrong with that.

You are right-we all see things differently-I totally enjoyed this cruise, and I thought the staff was great, even in the casino (although they still took my money).

In my area of the dining room I was impressed with the way most people followed the rules, however, you are right, they're was still a table where the man wore jeans every night.

I thought the food was very good, except for a couple of the dinners-one tough steak, and a salty piece of fish, but all in all, I still managed to gain weight, so it couldn't be all bad!!

I was under the assumption that the food on Celebrity was a cut above some of the others, I still maintain that this was not the case on Summit. I have been on 9 other cruises, never complained about the food before. Buffet for breakfast and lunch was just fine, spa cafe also had some very good items, equal to other cruise lines, RCI and Princess for example. Nothing notable at all for me, husband enjoyed the lamb shank, but agreed food just nothing special.

Yes, I saw that too. You are obviously also tied to Spring Break. I believe you spent some time with my husband in the casino, his name is Jim. He and I met Chris and Jenn on the first night, because when they told me they were from Oak Creek, I realized they were from cruise critic!! Small world.
