St. Thomas Snorkling Excursions thru RCI

Has anyone done the Catamaran Sailing & Snorkeling Tour or St. John Beach & Snorkel Tour thru RCI? Was hoping to get some input on them, as to what time they usually started and how they liked them, or not. Thanks,

I would like to know too if anyone has done this.. I am also interested

in this catamaran tour as I have been to St. Thomas have done the shopping, Magen's Bay, Coki, almost every beach there...need something

different..searched private boat tours and they are very $$$$$.

RCI tour seems reasonably priced.

Catamaran Sailing & Snorkeling Tour is done on a catamaran that is named Castaway Girl. You sail out to Buck island which is about 4 -5 miles off the coast of St. Thomas. At Buck Island you snorkel for about 1 hour and return. The snorkeling is very good if the waters have been calm for a few days, but the visibility can be fair to poor if the waters have been choppy for a few days.

 

The snorkeling is done in water that is from 10 feet to 60 feet. When visibility is good you can see the bottom, even in the 60 foot area, which is where there is a small sunken ship.

 

If you like a sailboat ride and are not crazy about the snorkeling this is a fun tour too!

did you see the giant sea turtles that is advertise din the tour description?

 

There is a tour offered at St. Maartin also, are you familiar with that one?

If so which one is better? would you do one or the other?
