Pat.bz Posted March 31, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2008 We are doing a TA west in December and feel confident the ship will do fine. Like any other cruise, there are no guarantees as to weather. We did a TA est last year in March and the sea was fine.
thepeacha Posted March 31, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 31, 2008 we TA'd on Brilliance in December, Barcelona to Miami, and we had smooth seas most of the way- Captian said it was his smoothest crossing yet. However Mother Nature has her way, no one can guarantee the same for you, so bring those tablets or wristbands and enjoy a great trip. Certainly no cruise line puts a multi-million dollar investment with 2000+ precious lives aboard into danger... the ships are very careful to go only where they can manage! Rick-cruiser Posted March 31, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 31, 2008 I've done two Transatlantics on the Celebrity C-class ships, the last one being on the Century a few months ago - December 2007. I can tell you that, on both occasions, the sailings across the Atlantic have been like a sheet of glass - smooth and steady. Of course the weather has a lot to do with it - any major rain/wind storms subsequently result in rough seas. However, note that Nov/Dec in the Southern Atlantic and Caribbean is not their rainy/stormy season, so you will most likely have nothing to worry about. Hope that helps. - Rick
