Saint John: How long through customs?

Hi

We are trying to plan our day in Saint John. Our ship docks at 7am. Does anyone have an idea of how long it usually takes to get through customs so we can disembark? Thanks.

Also, Acey, do you know how long of a walk it is from the terminal to Avis rent a car? Thanks.

The ship clears customs and immigration very quickly; if you dock at seven, they'll probably clear the ship for disembarkation by 7:30. You personally don't go through a customs process to disembark; you'll need to bring your ship card and a photo ID to disembark and to show to the officials when you return in the afternoon.

If you dock at Pugsley Terminal, Avis is across the street and two blocks down (3 min. walk)

 

If you dock at Long Wharf, a complimentary shuttle bus will drop you off across the street from Avis, or alternatively a 10 min walk along the boardwalk.
