mayerh2 Posted April 4, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2008 Does anyone know if special vaccines (hepatitis?) are required for a visit to Bodrum?
ab0si Posted April 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2008 Well, if you are planning on having unprotected sex with the locals, then I'd worry about Hep C. Other than that ... the CDC recommends Hep A & B (but Turkey has a relatively low incidence of these diseases and for a port stop I am not sure it is necessary.. your call). The CDC's Turkey page: http://wwwn.cdc.gov/travel/destinationTurkey.aspx The State Dept's page: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1046.html#medical World Health Org's page: http://www.who.int/ith/countries/tur/en/ The U.K. and Canada have excellent health advice for travelers .. better than the U.S., IMHO. I haven't looked at their Turkey pages, but you an always google them. Paul
nikel Posted April 4, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 4, 2008 We were advised to have hepatitis A for Croatia, so I would imagine it would be the same for Turkey
