debs44 Posted April 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2008 hi, my first post, we are new to cruising, last year we took our first cruise on the island escape, and are now hooked, we are travelling from barcelona on 3rd August on the Gem, with DH and 3 children 12,9,5. just a quick question regarding kids club as we only have one sea day, what are the hours on other days, and can you pick and choose how long your children stay there for or do they have to do the whole session, thanks
NCL_Cruiser Posted April 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2008 hi, my first post, we are new to cruising, last year we took our first cruise on the island escape, and are now hooked, we are travelling from barcelona on 3rd August on the Gem, with DH and 3 children 12,9,5. just a quick question regarding kids club as we only have one sea day, what are the hours on other days, and can you pick and choose how long your children stay there for or do they have to do the whole session, thanks You can rest assured you'll be able to retrieve your children when you're ready. Just keep in mind that some of the activities will be held in other parts of the ship, so you'll want to be sure you know where to go to get your child if you intend to pick them up before the end of the scheduled session. Ms belp Posted April 5, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2008 I'm not sure about the kid's cruise club, personally. But, I have read enough posts to say that most parents believe their children really loved it and all had a great time.

garycarla Posted April 5, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2008 Many of the reports I have read and heard is that the kids often get mad when you come to get them as they are having a great time.
Ask4Jay Posted April 6, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 6, 2008 A word of caution. We took our grand daughter for her 12th birthday (on the Dawn). Being a 'big' girl now, she was hoping to get into the Teen Group. No dice, she got stuck with the lower age group. And boy, did she have a great time, once she got into it. We saw he only at meal times.
debs44 Posted April 6, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted April 6, 2008 im quite glad of the strict age policy with kids clubs, as my 12 (going on 20 ) year old daughter, I would not want mixing with 17 year olds for obvious reasons, We booked a family holiday and will have the children with us most of the time but they do like to mix with other children, and wondered what the new freestyle 2 hours were likely to be as we dont sail until 7pm on 4 days its getting late for my 5 year old DS.
