Champagne and Lunch

Probably another silly question - After reading this board for soooooooo many months, I understand we might be able to board the ship early for our cruise to Alaska next year. First question, can we indeed board early, say around 12:30? Second question - Will be "handed a glass of champagne" and be able to eat lunch or is this just for those who board later in the day?

You can board the ship any time after 1230 in almost all cases, but you can't go to your stateroom until @ 1430 when they make the announcement. You will be handed champagne upon boarding and you can have as much as your little heart desires, but be careful or it will creep up on you and ruin the rest of your day. After boarding you can proceed to deck 11 and the Pool Grill for lunch- wonderful steak sandwiches!
