katiec Posted April 8, 2008 #26 Share Posted April 8, 2008 Our first cruise was with Disney - children age 11 and 7. The food was excellent, the service superb, and the 2 bathrooms per cabin is a big plus. We did enjoy the characters on board and the children oriented shows, etc. Last year, 4/07, we sailed the Freedom, children age 14 and 10, and were extremely impressed with the caliber of this magnificent ship - its crew, food, entertainment - it was all awesome, and from our perspective, maybe just a bit preferable to the Disney. However, considering the ages of your children, they would probably absolutely love the characters, shows , etc., geared to their ages. It is a very narrow window that children will really appreciate the Disney "magic" that is available. All this considered, I would probably recommend the Magic/Wonder. The dining experiences are phenomenal and geared to children as well. When they get a bit older they start "rolling their eyes" and think the whole experience is a bit "goofy." Hope this helps! Suzanne74 Posted April 8, 2008 #27 Share Posted April 8, 2008 I would keep Disney for sure - especially for those ages. Freedom will only get cheaper, Disney will only get more expensive.
