taminator Posted April 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2008 The search function doesn't seem to be working, so please forgive me if this question has already been asked. We're cruising on the Carnival Spirit, leaving Honolulu on May 2. Carnival says embarkation is 1 p.m. but prior experience with Royal Caribbean says some ships will allow you to board starting around 11:30 a.m. Is this true with Spirit in Hawaii as well? We're trying to decide whether to board early and check in our bags before the rush, or just check in later in the afternoon. Thanks in advance. jleq Posted April 6, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2008 While the "official" time is 1pm, you can usually board around 11am-noon. The later time is given so people don't get angry should embarkation be delayed. Your cabins won't be available 'til the later time

We're trying to figure out if we should drop off everything and then tour Honolulu or do the touring first and check in late. But we don't feel good leaving all the luggage in the rental vehicles if we decide to go with the latter option. Thanks, again.
