Discount after booking?

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right forum, or if I am reading correctly. Is it true that you can get onboard credit if the price of a cruise goes down after booking. We sail on Carnival next week and the cruise was booked using a military discount. I'm not sure if the price has gone down but if I call the Carnival person we booked through, would she tell me the new price and give us a credit, no problem? Thanks :)

We got OBC after booking and paying in full. I had to call and the first person said no, but I called back and got another person and she said "no problem and gave us our $160 credit. Not sure how the military rate works though. Good luck!

You should call your TA/PVP and get the OBC. If its before your final payment

they take that amount on your total you owe.

I have paid the deposit for my August cruise, nothing else yet. Today the rate went down $75!!:D

 

They just took it off my total due. After the paid in full date, they will issue onboard credit.

So if you have already paid the entire amount, you can't get a refund or OBC?

 

I'm sailing in a month and have already paid in full, but am still checking to see if the price will go down.

You can get OBC even if you've already paid for your cruise in full. I got 3 different price reductions on my recent Valor cruise. 1 before final payment and 2 after ~ had $70 OBC each for all 4 of us, it was great!
