2010 Canaries and w. Med - choices

I hope to take two cruises next year and have narrowed the choice down to two alternatives:

 

- Oriana on 8 April to the Canaries

- Ventura on 17 July to the W. Med

 

or

 

- Oceana on 25 April to the W. Med

- Aurora on 2 August to the Canaries

 

Both these choices include visits to Naples and Tenerife which are a must for me and both choices exclude autumn sailings.

 

I will be a first time P&O solo cruiser in his late 50,s and would appreciate advice on the choice of ships. I don't mind children around as their presence should mean a younger passenger age profile. I am leaning towards option two as Oceana might be better for me than Oriana. Your thoughts?

This thread should of course be 2009 cruises :o
