Okay, let me get you started on the list of questions.

1. What time did you arrive at the port of Galveston and how long was embarkation?

2. Was this your first time on the Conquest?

3. Was it hard to find your way around the ship?

4. Which was your favorite port of the three?

5. Did you go to Sunset beach in Montego Bay?

6. Did they have a formal night and were there people dressed casual for it?

7. Did you go to the Supper Club and how was it?

8. Did they serve raw or steamed oysters anywhere on the ship?

Okay, that should get us started. I will have more questions to overwhelm you later.

Thanks,

I have got mine already set.

Jamaica: DH will be going on the mini boat ride w/lunch.

Jamaica: Me and my DS will go on the camel ride w/lunch

Grand Caymen: Me and DH and DS will do the Allura to stingray city and snorkel.

Cozumel: Horseback riding.

If anyone has any feedback on these please let me know.

Okay, let me get you started on the list of questions.

1. What time did you arrive at the port of Galveston and how long was embarkation? We got there at about 11, took about 45 minutes or so to get through the line and on the ship..... wasn't bad at all (but don't ask about debarkation!!! lol)

2. Was this your first time on the Conquest? Yes, and we loved her... we all want to go back!!!

3. Was it hard to find your way around the ship? Not after the first couple days. Each elevator bay has a "you are here" map of the ship, which really helps.

4. Which was your favorite port of the three? We enjoyed all three greatly. I think the dolphin encounter and chankanaab in cozumel were probably the highlights though.

5. Did you go to Sunset beach in Montego Bay? Yes, and it was fabulous. My kids especially enjoyed the pools, they needed a break from saltwater.

6. Did they have a formal night and were there people dressed casual for it? Yes, there were two formal nights. I am sure there were some people not as dressed up as others, but to be honest, I really only noticed about the five or six tables near us, and everyone was dressed very nicely.

7. Did you go to the Supper Club and how was it? Sorry, we didn't go.

8. Did they serve raw or steamed oysters anywhere on the ship? Not that I remember, sorry.

Okay, that should get us started. I will have more questions to overwhelm you later.

Thanks,

Since OP said they would check back later, thought I would add my .02 here, since we just got back a week ago (and want to go back tomorrow, lol) Also, different viewpoints may be helpful, yes?? See my responses above.

I can not wait to sail on the Conquest again....we loved that ship...but we may sail on her sister ship "Glory" for our next 7 day cruise...unless we go when the conquest changes the route...since we would like to visit new places.

I also wish that the conquest was still in NOLA....much closer for us

I am leaving May 4 and have a few questions myself.

I see from looking at the deck plans that all the resturants are named. Well on here and online Carnival refers to things as "the main dining room" or the "buffet" and the "supper club"

So what resturant is which?

Did you spend much time at the pool? Is it good to just grab a chair and hang out on your days at sea?

What room were you in? Balcony? Interior? Suite?

We did the gauranted but are pretty sure we were upgraded to a balcony, which I am super excited about. Our TA said to check back sometime this week and they will look again but once the rooms are tentaivly assigned it likely will not change...

I think that is all for now

So what resturant is which? The supper club is The Point, we didn't eat there. The Cezanne is the buffet, we ate there frequently for breakfast. The Monet and The Renoir are the main dining rooms, you will be assigned to one or the other.

Did you spend much time at the pool? Is it good to just grab a chair and hang out on your days at sea? We spent a fair amount of time at the pools. The main pool it is hard to get a lounger, but we mostly hung out with our kids, and there is a shallow lip all the way around that you can sit in, and be in just a bit of refreshing water. The adult pool we went to a couple times, and didn't have too much trouble getting a chair either time, but did have to wait a little while one of the times. There were always loungers available on the upper decks of the open decks, if you don't mind being a ways away from the pool.

What room were you in? Balcony? Interior? Suite? We were in connecting ocean view rooms, which we thought were very nice. We have had a balcony in the past, which we also really enjoyed, but we got both OV rooms for the same price as one balcony, and we really wanted the extra space and bathroom!!

Have a GREAT time!!!!!

allgeeteredup Not sure if this helps on the oysters or not but in their lido buffet it is two stories at the second story there is a fish and chips little like stand not big at all. Everyday they had fried oysters and on certain days they had raw oysters. We sat up there all of the time cause a lot of people did not go up there and was very quiet even at lunch. This was last may we were on it. we were on her two years before that and it was there then also. Hope this helps and she is a great ship!

Gilly99- Did you take a taxi or walk to Sunset Beach?

Thanks

I'm not Gilly99, but we have been to Sunset Beach twice. First time we had a group from our roll call go and we had enough for an entire van. 2nd time it was just 3 of us and we got a cab all by ourselves. Both times, the driver agreed to pick us up at a specific time and both times they were there waiting for us.

Just be ready for the drivers to suggest a different place. This happened to us both times. We just said, no thank you, we want to go to Sunset Beach. The drivers both replied, "No problem, man. I take you to Sunset."

It's fun! I think you will enjoy your day there.

One more question...

Do you have seating in the main dining room for breakfast and lunch or is it just dinner??

Also what is the dress code if any for breakfast and lunch. I am prepared to dress for dinner but not sure what you wear to breakfast and lunch?? Do you have to dress for that as well?

Where is the adult pool? We are cruising without children and might like being at an adult pool!

We were on the April 13th sailing, had a great time and will absolutely repeat.

1. What time did you arrive at the port of Galveston and how long was embarkation? If memory serves we got there ~11:00, embarkation was delayed because apparently every 90 days, the entire crew must disembark and go thru customs. That delayed embarkation quite a bit for us. Once we went thru securuty and got our sail and sign cards, we waited about an hour or so before we were allowed on board. Not a big deal, but I think it could have been better planned and communicated to everyone. Once the building was full, they actually shut the doors and quite a few folks had to wait outside untill embarcation began.

2. Was this your first time on the Conquest? Yes, but it will not be our last!!

3. Was it hard to find your way around the ship? IMHO...no. After the first couple of days everything was easy to find.

4. Which was your favorite port of the three? Cozumel.

5. Did you go to Sunset beach in Montego Bay? Yes, had a great time!

6. Did they have a formal night and were there people dressed casual for it? It varied, most were at least in button-down shirts and dresses, but some were much more casual.

7. Did you go to the Supper Club and how was it? Yes....INCREDIBLE!! Worth every penny.

8. Did they serve raw or steamed oysters anywhere on the ship? Not that I saw.

Seating in the dining room for Breakfast and lunch is not assigned. THe wait staff will escort you to a table. Dress for both was casual.

The adult pool is on the Lido deck aft. There is a pool and 2 hot tubs. There were very few kids on our cruise, most of the were below school age. I think our 2 were among only 20 or so school age children onboard.

One more question...

Do you have seating in the main dining room for breakfast and lunch or is it just dinner?? It's open seating for breakfast and lunch and it's the Monet (I think) the aft dining room that's open for breakfast and lunch.

Also what is the dress code if any for breakfast and lunch. I am prepared to dress for dinner but not sure what you wear to breakfast and lunch?? Do you have to dress for that as well? You can wear pretty much whatever you want in the dining room for breakfast or lunch. Obviously if you are in a bathing suit, you need to at least put on shorts or a nice cover up. Keep in mind though, that I think the dining rooms are cold! I always took a jacket if I was in shorts!

Where is the adult pool? We are cruising without children and might like being at an adult pool! Not sure, but I think it's at the very back....[/quote]

Conquest is a great ship!

Well I just talked to the TA and we got bumped out of our balcony (we did gaur. and last week were assigned a balcony) anyway. We are now in 2469 on the Main deck which is right at the VERY VERY back of the ship... Are we going to encounter a lot of noise and stuff back there? We have never cruised before and were hoping for a room more mid ship but went with what the TA suggested. I hope we are happy with it.

Ah, the pleasures of booking guarantee. I'm not going on Conquest until July so I can't help you out, but when I was in an inside on Valor it was no problem. I think you'll be happy, regardless of how much time you spend in the cabin. First cruises are always such good memories because you don't know what to expect, and are usually pleasantly surprised. ;)

Thank you so much. I have posted this same question about the oysters on a thread and it was deleted. Again, thanks.

Thanks,

1. Embarkation was way long due to the fact that the whole crew was going through an "every 90 day" check on their immigration status. We got to the pier at about 10:45. We weren't on the ship until around 1:00.

Unless you hit one of those "checks", you won't have a problem.

2.Yes.

3. No. The ship is large but very user friendly.

4.Favorite port was Cozumel without question. Whether it's shopping for jewelry or anything at all, you will find it right off the ship. The pier is right in the middle of it all. The Valor docked within feet of us. They had a big TV outside we could see. Conquest will get one next January.

5. Was going to, honest. However we ended up shopping. It was a group. One couple went for the little town tour. They got screwed. Seems the main tour bus was oversold by 7. They got some guy in a van who didn't know anything to drive the 7. They handed him a map to the area with nice architecture and he cruised shanty town.

They finally complained to the excursion desk and got 25% back. Not enough in my opinion.

6. There are 2 formal nights. Our table dressed. We wouldn't be travelling with each other if we weren't of the same mind on that one. And yes there were in regular shirts. It was entirely a low light situation, especially in the Monet 2nd level dining. It was all good really.

7. No need to go to the supper club but I'm sure it was worth it. For example...In the dining room if you order the cherries jubilee you get a dollop of ice cream and 3 cherries with syrup. Now, if you don't know the difference. that's one thing. If you've had it set on fire and all the rest you'll know that it's almost false advertising. I'm thinking The Point would have the real deal.

8. That's a hard one. It wasn't on any of the dining room menus. I don't know. Very likely at the Point.
