Things we learnt on the Grandeur

Recommended Posts

Just back from a great trip on the Grandeur repo from Tampa to San Juan. A few quick things we learnt:

- a poor assistant waiter really makes a difference to your dining room experience (even if an excellent waiter is working hard!)

- book excursions through the ship - some excursions in Cozumel were cancelled due to rough seas; we had to tender into Spotts Bay in Grand Cayman rather than Goergetown due to high winds; the excursion in San Juan was highly flexible and delivered us to our hotel afterwards - all of this would have been a real headache if we had booked tours independently. They were also good value.

- swimming with stingrays is a must-do activity

- boarding at Tampa was a breeze, on board by midday - no trouble

- Quest is a good laugh

- there is a lovely lunchtime pasta bar in the dining room

and

- The Coasters are great!
