does it need to be folded, or can i wheel my son in it until we hit security point? and does it count as luggage? thanks

You can keep your child in the stroller for the entire embarkation process, including boarding the ship. You might be required to take your child out to pass through the metal detectors (I can't recall if we needed to do this or not), but will able to put them back in immediately. In NY, once we went through the security checkpoint, a NCL agent directed us to the special assistance check in line. It was a special check in desk for families with strollers, passengers in wheelchairs, etc. This was a big help:)
