Float Plane or boat to see Misty Fjords

We want to see the Misty Fjords in Ketchikan and were looking at the float plane as it looks like fun. But futher reading states that you only land for 10 minutes and only get out on the platform of the plane. The boat trip seems to actually see more up close.

Does anyone have an opinion on which one would be best?

The flightseeing tour I'm booked on (I haven't gone yet) lands and lets you off the plane, and gives time to walk around (30 min). Perhaps you should look at different vendors to see if there is something more to your liking.

My reservation is with Island Wings, but I haven't gone yet so I can't say if they are good or not.

We went with Island Wings last year, and got out on land with lots of time to absorb the beautiful surroundings. It's hard for me to believe that you'd see ANYTHING from a boat trip any where NEAR as gorgeous as what we saw from the sky and landing.
