We appreciate the time you have taken to share your concerns, and we welcome the opportunity to respond at this time. While we hope there were areas of your cruise you were able to enjoy, we sincerely regret the difficulties you experienced regarding wheelchair accessibility of several ports. Please be aware, the decision to ferry a guest in a wheelchair is at the sole discretion of the Captain, and the decision is made with the passenger and crew’s safety foremost in mind. In regard to ports where a stair climber is used, it is required that passengers transfer to a Princess wheelchair which is then connected to the stair climber and operated by the ship’s personnel. If passengers cannot transfer or their personal mobility device cannot be easily disembarked due to size or weight, passengers may be precluded from going ashore. We do apologize for the disappointment you experienced as a result of being unable to visit several ports during your cruise. We understand how these circumstances negatively affected your cruise. While we would be unable to provide a refund of any port, charges, as a goodwill gesture, we would like to offer an onboard credit of $200 ($100 per person) to enhance your next cruise. We have taken the liberty of applying this credit to your upcoming Grand Princess sailing, booking CKXL2V. Splinter Posted April 29, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2008 The usual Princess BS. What chance is there that you would ever use a $200 credit again to take a cruise where you could not get off at the ports again?
