We love the Galapagos Explorer II. We took a 7 day cruise on her in 2000. At the time she was the only luxury ship in the Galapagos. The food was excellent, even though there was only limited choice at dinner -- one meat entree, one seafood entree and on vegitarian entree. Deserts were very good. Breakfast and lunch buffets were top notch. Service was extraordinary. One day we were too tired to go on the morning excursion. After the excursion had left, the dining room steward noticed that we had not come down. He waited an hour or so and then he called up to ask if we wanted breakfast in our cabin. We did and he brought us a delicious hot breakfast.

We love the super-luxury ships of Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Seabourn Cruises, but neither can offer the small ship, personal service of the Galapagos Explorer II.

The other cruises were interesting, educated and convivial

Whatever boat you take, a trip to the Galapagos Islands is one of the most extraordinary travel experiences that there is. Besides the wonderful animal life, there is the unique experience of seeing nature almost as if humans had never existed. At night on deck one is alone with the sea, the stars, and the universe. There is no indication of the modern world and one feels as if it were 10,000 years ago.

GO!!!
