2 Days Precruise-FLL

Buy a pass on the water taxi and cruise the intercoastal waterway. The drivers are great about pointing out interesting sights and the homes of celebrities. The pass is good for the day and this is a great way to spend the afternoon.

Thanks so much. Does the water taxi take you to Las Olas?

Yes, it stops at Las Olas and that is a great area to walk around the shops and get something to eat. There are a lot of nice restaurants. We like the Cheesecake Factory.

Then get back on the water taxi and ride to your hearts content. I believe the one day fare is $5.

So much to do.... If you like diving &/or snorkeling try it here. The reef starts just north of FLL and goes all the way to the southern keys. There are some great areas right off of the FLL beach area. You need a tour boat though to go out. Only a small select area on the north end where you can swim out from the beach. As someone else stated the Jungle Queen and Everglades tours are really neat. You also have shopping on Las Olas Blvd and right on the A1a srtip. Also check out Beachplace for the evenings. Live entertainment on the weekends and several resturants and shops as well. Neat place to hang and enjoy the night right on the beach! Hope this helps.

You didn't say whether the 16 year old was a boy or girl. But, Sawgrass Mills is a HUGE outlet mall! Get brochures for all these suggestions at your hotel. We always like to stay a couple of days in FLL, so have done many fun things there!

P.S. there is a Hard Rock Cafe at Sawgrass!!! ;)

Is Butterfly World a good "excursion"? How did it survive the hurricanes? We were thinking about going there either pre or post cruise but I have heard that butterfly farms take a while to recover from storms. Does anyone have recent experience with it?
