Freedom of the Seas room 7712(back) or 9342(hump)?

Help?

I have booked a cruise on the Freedom. I narrowed the choice to 2 rooms:

Room 7712

-"Deluxe" balcony, which means smaller room than the "Superior", but a larger balcony

-Balcony on the back of the ship

-farther from elevators (this is pretty much a non-issue for us)

-about $100 pp cheaper than 9342

Room 9342

-"Superior" (I think that's the name of the room type) balcony on the hump.

-On the center of the hump(sweet!)

-larger room than 7712

-smaller balcony

-few rooms down from elevators (non-issue for us)

Am I missing any pros or cons?

I booked the hump room only because the room itself is bigger, and I think the view from the hump would be nicer than on the back.

If anyone has pictures of these rooms, it would be a GOD SEND! :)

Thoughts?

Hello, I am in 9342 17 August 2008, if you don't get any room pictures by then I will share with you.

Freedom deck plans shows 7712 an aft Junior Suite. Is this correct? Do you have the right room number? I'd take the JS over the regular balcony if this is true.

Youre correct on the 9342, hump D1.

Double check 7712 to make sure you have the right info.

Sorry, you are correct! The aft room is actually 9704. The description is still accurate.

The aft balcony is really nice in that you have recliners and chairs ...and actual room to move around. On a hot itinerary it gets hot back there, but the larger area is a real bonus. Having breakfast and hors dourves/wine out there is worth it to me.

The hump rooms are nice rooms. Slightly off-center of the hump you get a bigger balcony with one recliner and two chairs, with a great view. Haven't been in a straight-on hump room. It is closer to elevators, which I know you said isn't a problem, it wasn't for us either...but after having a hump room, I would have to say I preferred the location compared to being all the way at the back. Loved the off-center room we had for the view and larger balcony.

In conclusion, I'd say it depends on the itinerary, but you'll be happy with either. If you've never had a bigger balcony, it might be worth it to try the rear.

Have a great trip!

what do you mean by hump room. i think 7712 is a junior suite with a bigger room and balcony and full tub,

Is this a good room

You're not likely to get an answer from the previous poster as that was from 2008.

However, the hump on Freedom is the area aroudn the aft centrum where the staterooms are pushed out from the side of the hull.

Thank you. Are they a bigger room and are they junuior suites? What about noise

Depends on the stateroom number. Hump staterooms on Freedom can be D/E balconies, Junior Suites, Owners Suites, or the Royal Suite.
