Safeco Field to Pier 30

Recommended Posts

We are sailing on May 9th from Pier 30 and have to be on board by 10:00pm.

What is the best way to get from Safeco Field to pier 30. Would a cab take us that short of distance? Is it safe to walk at night and how long?

Are you sure you are sailing from Terminal 30? You didn't mention what ship you were on, but I only see the Infinity scheduled in Seattle on May 9. Celebrity generally uses Pier 66 and not Terminal 30. Might want to verify which pier you will be at.

Terminal 30 is only 3/4 of a mile, but the walk would not be overly pleasant (think rail yard, industrial area). Just head West from the Safe over to Alaskan Way/East Marginal Way and then head South. Terminal 30 will be on your right.

Pier 66 is around 1.5 miles away. If you really wanted to walk it just head North on 1st Ave and then take a left at Bell St. Or, cut down to Alaskan Way at some point and walk along the waterfront.

Not to mention that, if you are going to a night game, it will not be over until nearly 11:00 or so most nights, by the time you fight the traffic to cross the streets and such, no matter which way you are going, and you are likely required to be back aboard 1-2 hours prior to sailing.

Yes, that particular cruise is leaving from terminal 30. We actually have to be aboard by 11:30, so we are planning on leaving the game by 10:00 finished or not.

Do you know if there is a bus that would take us close to terminal 30 or should we just stick with a cab since it doesn't sound to pleasant to walk in that area at night.

Thanks.

Buses are on reroure (i.e. they don't run near Safeco Field) from the middle of the seventh inning until the end of the game, so there are none going down 1st Av until about one hour after the game is over. You may be able to find a taxi, or call one, but don't count on it. They are thin on the ground in that area (last time I called one from the Pyramid Ale House across the street from the Safe, it took two hours and about ten calls to finally get them to show up). The closest you will get if you take a bus down 1st Av (which is to say if you leave before the middle of the 7th) is about 5-6 blocks away, at 1st & Lander, and you will have to walk the rest of the way.

The 21, 22, 56 and 57 buses stop in front of the Ale House except during the re-reoute period.
