gracie65 Posted May 1, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2008 Tried searching the thread but the search engine was down so sorry if this topic has been discussed already. Does anyone know if there are Ferry's to St. Croix? I know they have the sea planes. If anyone knows about the ferry's do you remember the price? Thanks
richtersl Posted May 1, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2008 There is a ferry that runs between St. Thomas and St. Croix. Here's the ferry information (from vinow dot com): Rates: Adults/$50 one-way, $90 roundtrip. Children 3-11/$45 one-way, $80 roundtrip. Children under 2 years old/$10 one-way, $20 roundtrip. Time: 90 minutes. Leaving Gallows Bay, St. Croix: Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon 7:30am 4:30pm Leaving Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas: Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon 9:30am 6:45pm St. Croix is pretty far from St. Thomas and best reserved for a land-based vacation. Thanks it would be for land. I'm inquiring for a friend who was trying to see if it would be cheaper to fly to St. Thomas then ferry to St. Croix where she would stay till returning home. richtersl Posted May 1, 2008 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2008 What about having her fly to Puerto Rico and then grab a puddle jumper from there to St. Croix?
gracie65 Posted May 1, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted May 1, 2008 What about having her fly to Puerto Rico and then grab a puddle jumper from there to St. Croix? I told her she may want to try that too. She has a guy frined that works in St. Croix & he'll only be there about another month so she was trying to visit before he left. It's just so expensive to fly to St. Croix it was almost $700.00. She would be leaving from the Myrtle Beach, SC airport & we don't have a lot of options for cheap air.
richtersl Posted May 2, 2008 #6 Share Posted May 2, 2008 It costs about $700 RT to go from Myrtle Beach to St. Croix and about $500 from Philadelphia. Go figure! It looks like you need to fly out of a hub to get a decent price.
