cardfans Posted May 1, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2008 We will be in Vancouver May 22. Since the shuttle in Stanley Park does not start running until June, and if we go we will probably be taking the bus, are there gardens within walking distance from wherever the bus would drop us off? Or if not, does the horse drawn carriage go past gardens, and can you get on and off of that or is it just a drive through the park?
LeftcoastBC Posted May 1, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 1, 2008 the only "Garden" that I'm familiar with in the Park is the Roses. It can be easily walked to from where transit drops..... BUT 22nd of May ?? kinda early for roses.
Putterdude Posted May 1, 2008 #3 Share Posted May 1, 2008 The rose gardens are kind of it except for some plantings here and there. Without the shuttle the horse drawn carriage is likely your best bet to see the park.
orchid72 Posted May 2, 2008 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2008 Here's a PDF file of the Stanley Park Map. The #19 bus stops on Pipeline road near the roundabout. From there, you can walk to the Rose Garden near the Stanley Park pavilion in one direction and to the Rhododendron Garden near Lost Lagoon in the other direction. The Rose Garden is about a -10 minute walk from there, and the Rhododendron garden is about a 10-15 minute walk around lost lagoon.
cardfans Posted May 2, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted May 2, 2008 Thank you all for all of this great information. Now we just have to wait and see what time we actually get to Vancouver on the 22nd, and what everyone feels like doing.
