wrp96 Posted May 2, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2008 Too early. Don't book anything before noon out of SJU. SJU is a mess on weekends especially during the Winter season when multiple ships are sailing out of San Juan on both Saturdays and Sundays. alcpa1 Posted May 2, 2008 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2008 We sail in and out of SJU frequently. Unless you are spending a day or two after the cruise do not book a flight that early. Docking time does not relate to disembarkation time even on a really good day. Take a later flight and if it is a late afternoon flight check out a cruise line tour and airport transfer which will give you a nice tour of San Juan and you will have your luggage with you on the bus. This will avoid sitting on the floor in the packed lobby with your luggage until you can check in. There is almost nowhere to sit in the airport on a cruise day including the gate areas. Too many people too few seats. We've done it before and will do it again in November. It makes a long day tolerable.
