Buses/other transportation around San Juan

Just wondering if taxi's are our only transportation option for going back and forth from Isle Verde to Old San Juan?? Is there any type of shuttle service the hotels use or is public tranportation available.

 

We want to go explore Old San Juan early Saturday morning, but then return to the hotel for an hour or so before we head to the ship. Don't want to mess with a car rental.

Public transportation is extremely deficient here, sorry to say :o . I would plan on taxis. Buses are just too unreliable. You could ask at your hotel if they have any type of shuttle, but I don't think that's very common. Taxi fares are pre-set in the tourist areas (search around this board and you'll find links to the price list).
