A few questions about the Dawn

Hello, hoping someone out there can help me out w/ a couple of things

 

1) is the pool on deck 12 (oasis pool) for adults only? My son is 11 and I won't think he will want to go the the T Rex pool so we are curious.

 

2) is there a charge for the casino players card? I understand they offer free drinks at certain times if you have a card.

The Oasis pool is for all ages. The only "Adult Only" pool is in the Spa.

 

When we joined "Casinos at Sea" there was no charge to join (June 2007). But, now with the free drinks, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a charge.

There is no charge for the Casino at Sea card. We signed up a few years ago and didn't have our cards with us. They had all our info in the computer and just gave us new cards.

I'm sure there hasn't been a charge to join (or even for replacement cards) up until now. But, like I said, since you can get free drinks with the card at certain times now, my bet is that they will start to charge to join (if they haven't doneso already).

Your 11 year old will definitely not enjoy the t-rex pool since its over run with really young kids (like ours of course). I think the actual max age limit on the pool is 12 years old anyway.

 

If you have a young kid, the t-rex pool area is the best escape on the whole ship.

I just got off the dawn yesterday. It is still free to join the casino at sea program. Loved the free drinks. NCL has the best casino program at sean in my opinion.

 

As the previous posters said the oasis pool is for everyone. The T-rex pool seems more suited to young children but is the only place I saw with water slides. There is an adult only pool in the spa but they charge you $20 per day to use it (or you can buy a package at the start of the cruise for a bit less)

for discounted cruises, other goodies for member including free drinks with the drink card you are given. Others who got a card in the casino tried on Dawn and were walked away. That included us unfortunately since we booked with a TA that was per our Host. So now we are CAS booking only.

Are you saying that the free drinks in the casino are only available to those passengers who book their cruise through Casinos at Sea??? Folks who book their cruise with a Travel Agent will not be eligable for free dinks in the casino??? Thank you.

I used an independent casino host to book our cruise and our Casino at Sea cards along with the free drink cards and a welcome letter from the ship's casino hosts were waiting for us in our stateroom when we arrived. The Casino at Sea program works just like land based comp systems, which are free to join and reward you based on your play.

Anyone with the card gets free drinks in the casino. I think if you book CAS you drink at other venues free.

we were on the Dawn last year.. loved it!

in the casino... we received free drinks and did not have a card..:)
