IT WORKS!!!

Both me and my wife just did it and printed them out.

The ocean Players club # is

888) 672-2582

When I called I played dumb.

I said " we are going on a cruise in June, and cant remember both of our ocean club member numbers.

They asked for my name and date of birth, and DONE!

the number given me was my LAST BOOKING # plus a few other numbers. Last month we were on the Crown Princess, so when he read back the number, I said that sounded familiar, like our old # with Princess. He said it was. SO I think if you can get your old booking # and try it, it should work.

p.s I tried teh nine zero attempt (000000000) and it came back saying coupon had expired.

Does the same apply for the bring a buddy promotion? I just called Ocean Player's Club today, signed up, and was told that I have a $50 credit waiting for me in the casino for having a friend book on the same cruise. Does this mean that I won't be able to get that without having something in writing?

Thanks

No, This is only referring to this particular offer because they know that some people have received it that weren't intended to.

OCEAN PLAYERS CLUB Update...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I emailed Carnival the following:

As I'm sure you are aware, there is quite a bit of confusion over at the Cruise Critic boards re: what the heck is happening with the Ocean Players Club....

So, can you please tell us what is really going on, i.e, are there still any perks, and if so, what are they and what do you have to do to obtain them? Is the "Bring A Buddy" promotion still going on? Can some of us still expect some type of "present" from the Casino or has that stopped?

Whatever info you can give us would be greatly appreciated because, like I said, so much confustion. Also, I would like to be able to post your answer to me on the Cruise Critic thread so I need your ok for that too...

Thanks for your response.

Elaine

Below is the answer I received...

Dear Elaine,

Please allow me to clarify some issues and then you can post the details on Cruise Critic if you wish.

Firstly the Ocean Players Club is still in existence however some of our member lines, notably Carnival Cruise Lines, Princess Cruises and Holland America Line are introducing their own players clubs branded to their cruise line. These will still fall under the umbrella of the Ocean Players Club which will remain as a corporate entity across all of our many brands much like the 'World's Leading Cruise Lines'. As the individual cruise lines develop the new players clubs and the casino marketing you will see more offers and special events for players club members geared to each lines overall marketing programs. This is good news for all casino players and cruisers!

Certain promotions such as the "Bring a Buddy" offer will change from time to time dependent upon what other current offers and promotions are available. The current postcard promotion recently sent out by Carnival Players Club was sent to a limited group based on certain criteria and is only valid for those individuals who were sent the postcard. While others who have located the landing/registration page online may have been able to print the coupon, it will not be usable or valid during their cruise.

Other email offers will be following soon to all members whose email addresses we have.

If possible could you please ask your fellow Cruise Critic participants to remove the link to the landing/registration page for the postcard offer as this is only causing confusion and I wouldn't want our members to be disappointed when they go on the cruise only to find out the coupon they printed mistakenly is not valid.

We are working diligently to create a variety of great offers and benefits for all members of the new players clubs. There will be many more promotions in the coming months as we endeavor to service our repeat guests and valued casino clients.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Bob Bender | Marketing Manager | Carnival Corporation Casino Division | Ocean Players Club

Hope the above helps a bit.... Obviously if we have more questions, it seems that they are extremely ready to answer them and help....

SO PLEASE DON'T COME BACK and say Carnival didn't honor the coupon, Carnival didn't give me the $$$$ they promised me etc... It's only meant for those who never gave Carnival their email address and got the postcard....

I think the whole thing got out of hand, and ended up being something the OPC never intended.

After several cruises, and a lot of money plunked down in the casino, I began to receive a fruit basket with wine, candy, decorations, flowers, etc. in my cabin from the OPC. After a few more cruises, I began to receive cash at the cage, and a very nice bottle of wine at dinner several nights, in addition to the items in my cabin. I always sent a thank you email to the hosts on my return home.

People, me included, came here and reported our good fortune, and EVERYBODY who was sailing (from first timers to seasoned travelers) began sending notice to the casino hosts that they were sailing...hoping for some freebies.

It got out of hand.

The last two cruises, I have received a casino credit (which I think is fair, based on previous rate of play), and a nice bottle of wine at dinner one night during the cruise...nothing else. No decorations, wine and fruit, candy, etc.

Now something that they intended to be a nice gesture has become another point of contention. I'm not casting stones, as I also ran over and input my information for the "credit", knowing I hadn't received a postcard. ( I have discarded my "coupon" that I printed out.)

Just my 2 cents...but I *AM* interested to see what comes along in June when people who've played the same levels I've played start receiving their offers.

I agree with you 100%

Our last cruise netted us cage credit and wine 1 night - but no stateroom goodies as had happened many times prior...

June, at least, is not far off!!!:D

Hi All,

I saw the posts and went to the web address and signed up. As stated I received a email in about 90 seconds advising I did indeed qualify for the $100.00 (even a nice Thank You). But after thinking about it for a while I decided to call OPC. Spoke with the nicest young man (Michael) who advised me that only those who received a postcard were to be on some

"Special List" that would be checked when the coupon and or postcard was presented. So even though I'm sure that I have sponsored some of their kids college education through my roulette play on 5 past sailings I was not going to get a dime.

But I remembered that I say a post about B A B and when I asked Michael told me that I was eligible for $50.00 per cabin for up to 4 cabins. I have a small group of 5 cabins including my own. So (per Michael) I will get a $200.00 credit :D We will be sailing in 8 glorious days (YIPPIE)!!!!so I'll post again and let you all know how it goes. Hope this information helps!!

StirCrzy,

PERFECT and exactly correct.

On June 28 we wil board the Carnival Glory, our 9th cruise since 2002, and second in 10 weeks. Becasue of the closeness of the two trips, I asked when I called the players club to see if I was going to get a postcard, or should I just print it out, like all others. So I am guilty of that myself, as I got excited before I actually called. Once on the phone I did ask for the 200.00 ( combined for wife, and me) and they gave it to me AFTER verifing my last trip last month.

I like you have put more money than I should in those casino's and yes I get something, but NOT every trip. First it was the CAptian's cocktail party, then a bottle of wine at dinner with no corkage fee, then a basket, then a free soda card for my daughter, and even a free 60.00 entry last month in their poker tournement.

It has gotten out of hand for some who think they are entitled to something free. I don't beleive ANYONE in this thread is like that or has done that but trust me I have seen many rude people think theyy SHOULD be given something. I have NEVER asked for anything I just play by the rules, make sure my child behaves properly and do the right thing.

If they want they can give you anything, or NOTHING! I am not a T/A but my best friend for 10 years does work for Princess at their corparate office here in So. Cal so I did get on the family/friends plan. However they can still take me off of the plan at anytime, and because I am on it I am sure to act like adult, and not cause trouble. ( though I love to have fun playing volletball) I have seen Princess pay for families excursions, bar tab, among others. They can do this at anytime.

Don't expect anything, and be HAPPY if something comes your way, is my motto. Besides I am not willing to give up my family/friends plan with Princess. After all last month we sailed from San Juan on the Crown Princess in a "mini suite" me, wife, and daughter and got the discount of 57%.

Tim

p.s I would STILL take the "printout" and take a chance with it. You NEVER know who is behind the cashier's cage, and just might say "YES"

  • 2 years later...
How does one get the 50.00 for the players club really dont know about it? Where does one press 9 zeros bar@bar

This is a very old thread (from 2008). They discontinued the bring a buddy program a while back.

If you joined the Carnival Players Club the last time you took a Carnival cruise, you can send an email though their website telling them you are cruising again. The nine zeros are entered as your players club number. Sometimes, but not always, you'll get a welcome back letter with a free drink or points in the casino.
