Help with Cabin for Family of 4

I am thinking of bookin a cruise on Freedom of the Seas with our family of 4 (2 boys who will be 9 and 10 years old). Would a D1 Superior Oceanview room be feasible or would it be too cramped? To upgrade to a JS would be $1300 more, and I didn't really want to spend that much extra. We have previously travelled on DCL in Category 8 stateroom. How would a D1 compare?

Freedom of the Seas D1 = 214 sf + 68 sf balcony

Disney 8 = 214 sf (no balcony)

D1 and 8 cabins are the same size. The main difference you would probably note on Freedom is that there is no split bathroom with a bathtub like they had on Disney.

Hope that helps!
