cher45 Posted April 4, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2004 I am a newly single woman that loves to cruise. I do not like to pay the penalty for single cruising. Is there any one else out there in the same position. I would love to find out how to avoid the penalty. Diva Onboard Posted April 5, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2004 Outside of finding someone to share a cabin with, I don't know how you can avoid paying the full cost of the cabin. At one time, Holland America offered a single rate and even provided male escorts at dinner for dancing partners. I don't know if they still offer this or not. I have heard that Holland America caters to a much older crowd so that may not be your cup of tea. I am pretty much in the same boat (no pun intended). I have been fortunate lately to find cruise partners. Good luck to you. <Marquee>I'm getting out there - SERENADE OF THE SEAS - July 18, 2004<Marquee>
JacDro Posted April 5, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2004 With me - that's three of us. Getting harder to get my daughters to cruise with me. Maybe we should start a group cruise for single folks who want to share a room. Have a great day. DMorris Posted April 5, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2004 I was in that situation last year. My roommate booked with me to sail on the VOS. She fell out, so I had to find a replacement. There are several people on cruise critic that are single and looking for a cruise partner. I found a wonderful gal on here and we became great friends. We are all sailing again this year on the AOS. Just post looking for a cruise partner, you would be surprised on how many people you will find. There is also a singles board on the main page you can check out. You will find someone, I did. Good luck.
