Anybody stayed in a balcony stateroom on this deck? Any comments good or bad and any tips for comfort greatly appreciated. Wife to be gets very warm easily. Are portable fans available?

Cheers,

Phil

We have had balcony staterooms on the Riviera Deck on other ships of this class and love the location.

No, I am sorry, I have not heard of Princess providing any portable fans for passenger use onboard.

What I have done in the past when we visit hot climates is to pack a small travel fan.

Phil when we cruised on the Sun class ships these are the balcony cabins we always booked. Close to the pools and Horizon Court only one deck up. Never had a problem with noise or motion.

Sorry can't help about your wife to be feeling the heat. Maybe she can spend some time on the balcony when the ship is sailing. :)

When I first read your post all I could think of was how lucky you were. But after reading it a second time I understood. Have been on the deck 3 times. Dawn Princess 2x and Sea Princess. R-345 all 3 times. Great location as others have mentioned.

With the air conditioning supplied I can't see be to warm and in our case we left balcony door open for fresh air. Enjoy the spot and have a great vacation.

By the way congratulations on the up coming wedding and what a way to spend a honeymoon.

Portable fan may be in order now that I know that.

Anybody else got any comments on the Sea princess in general?

If you like Pizza, you will love the sit down style pizza restaurant on the Sea. This is not one of the specialty restaurants and there is no extra charge for dining here. They are open for lunch (although I don't think they were the day of embarkation) and the menu expands for dinner. Great Ceasar Salads and Calzones, wonderful Lasagna, even desserts.

Nicely layed out and rarely overcrowded, very good service and a nice break from other dining venues onboard.

Check with them about Sterlings Steakhouse. They were offering it twice out on deck during our sailing, and we booked both nights. Otherwise it is located in part of the Buffet in the evening. On a beautiful night in the Caribbean (if that is your itineary), you can't beat dinner under the starts. But make your reservations early, they book up fast. Again, wonderful service and the Filet's were melt in your mouth GREAT. (specialty restaurant with a $15 pp charge on Sterlings)

Oh, my, just realized that both my suggestions were about food. lol Guess it must be time to start dinner. ;)

LOL I haven't even looked yet. Busy spring Sunday here, so dinner plans have actually been the last thing on my mind. Although my tummy is telling me different, and they should be moved up to the front of my mind very soon.

Sure wish there was a buffet or diningroom to visit this evening, I am pooped. :)

Jimmie must have an inside track on a couple of nice steaks on the barbie.

Wash it down with a cold beer sitting watching the sun go down with all those babies crying for the mothers.

Yes the goats that is... for those not knowing what the hell I am talking about.

PHIL:

The Sea Princess is great. Did her twice. Best sailaway location is the aft hot tub as not used that day all all. Bar service fast as no one there.

Casino is small unless it has been changed. Second TOTO on the Pizza. Quick service and soup to die for. No one both cruises used it much. The last one we re-newed our vowels. I surprised her and NO I did not need a fan. LMAO.:p Needed smelling salts as she said yes. Dining under the stars is great as TOTO said but book early is a must. You should see a lot of officers as your on the bridge deck and mention the honeymoon and you may get a bridge tour. Play the part as it works. Not much else to say about her as show change, crew changes but the beer is always cold.

Enjoy....
