hotel to stay in

We have plans to stay at LaQuinta East in Miami in December. Free pick up at airport and free shuttle to cruise port. We had a good experience at the LaQuinta in Hollywood (Ft. Lauderdale) in March, so we booked them in Miami.

Lauderdale hotel was very clean, very organized with shuttle and served free breakfast.

we stayed at the Holiday Inn Port earlier this year. It was your usual Holiday Inn. No frills, but clean. The best thing about it, was it was right across the street from the Bayside Marketplace. We spent our evening there. Ate at Bubba Gumps. Enjoyed a reggae band, shopped some of the stores, and took a walk along the waterfront.

thanks, do you know how much it is for one night?

Cost of a hotel room at any Florida hotel will vary greatly depending on time of year. You should be able to go to La Quinta's website, search for the location mentioned above, plug in your date and get your answer there. :)

Wasn't there a place on the boards here that you could find out about hotels for pre and post cruise stays?????????/

Holiday Inn port of Miami is a budget hotel. Great location. $10 taxi ride to the port. You can request a port side room and see the ships from your window. A lot of places to eat across the street at Bayside marketplace. It isn't a fancy hotel. But you were asking for inexpensive.

we have always stayed at HI Bayside just because of location however rooms for April 2009 when our group goes are now at over 200.00 this is no budget hotel..... it is nothing fancy but 200.00 is not budget. we will seek other options by the airport. With free pickup at the airport and cruise shuttle plus free breakfast this time. We are booked on Liberty with 18 rooms!

I'll try this again. Wasn't there a place on the boards here that you could find out about hotels for pre and post cruise stays?????????/

Do a past search on this board for the threads re hotels. The prices near the airport will ALWAYS be cheaper. The Holiday Inn at the Port and the Intercontinental are the most popular for those peole wanting to be within 5 or 6 min from the port. But the rates in peak season are not "budget". Intercontinental is a beautiful buisness type hotel. HI is a basic hotel with rates pumped higher for the location, not the amenitites.

You can always check out the hotels you're interested in on tripadvisor.com and read a few of the most recent reviews and check out pictures.
