claytonfam Posted May 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2008 Has anyone done the helmet dive on Grand Cayman? Is it too tame for our three sons (ages 21, 19 and 15). It's hard to tell if it's exciting or lame by the info given by RCI. Would you recomend it or the regular snorkeling for seeing the best variety of sealife? sptrout Posted May 19, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2008 I assume that the tour is for "Sea Trek." I have done this in Jamacia, but not in GC. My wife and & enjoyed it; would do it again. Here is the link to the web site for Sea Trek; a good place for general information. http://www.sea-trek.com/index.html
Ahoy maties Posted May 19, 2008 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2008 We did the helmet dive in GC in March with two teenagers - 17 & 15. It is about 45 minutes, a little pricey but was awesome. A terrific experience! The four of us loved it. You will see more marine life by snorkelling however they are different experiences. Walking on the ocean floor was a blast! gooselover Posted May 19, 2008 #4 Share Posted May 19, 2008 We, too, have done the Helmet Dive in Jamaica - really enjoyed it! I don't remember the price, but it was up there with all the other excursions. I don't know if I would do it again since we have already done it, but we really enjoyed it!
